We can now reflect on Severn Trent’s 2021, and looks forward to some exciting developments on the horizon.

It was nice to see a strong set of results announced by Severn Trent PLC for the six months to 30 September 2021. Our group turnover was in line with expectations, up 8.0% following the recovery in non-household consumption post lockdown restrictions and Group PBIT (Profit Before Interest and Tax) was up 13.8%.

COP 26 has come to an end. Lots of negotiation, some agreements were reached, and compromises were made. It was great to see the world’s leaders (and a lot of business leaders too) come together, but it still feels like there is a way to go if we’re going to work collectively and collaboratively to protect our planet for the generations that will follow us.

Helen Kickstarts Her Severn Trent Career

The Kickstart scheme was designed to help 16-24 year-olds gain work experience, alongside participating in employability training in order to prevent the possibility of long-term-unemployment. With the unemployment rate for those aged 16-24 reaching 14.3% during the pandemic, this could not have been initiated at a better time. Severn Trent committed to take on 500 young people in November 2020, with Severn Trent CEO Liv Garfield describing the scheme as “brilliant.”

Anti-slavery day – 18th October 2021

Modern  slavery is unfortunately, still a very real issue, and one which Severn Trent takes very seriously.

Monday 18th October marks Anti-Slavery Day, designed to raise awareness of human trafficking and modern slavery and to encourage government, local authorities, companies, charities and individuals to do what they can to address the problem.
