We’ve seen an extremely dry start to the year; in the south there’s been a dry March, April, May, June and July, with 34% less rain than the long-term average.  With August and September set to be just as dry, together with the hottest temperatures on record, demand for water is set to remain high.

Temporary water use ban in Kent and Sussex areas

We’ve seen an extremely dry start to the year, with a sharp reduction in average rainfall between April – June 2022 making it the driest start to the year since 1976.  With August and September set to be just as dry, together with the hottest temperatures on record, demand for water is set to remain high.
