Meet our new starters, Freddie and Carole

Severn Trent Services offers a wide variety of career opportunities for our new starters. Here, we focus on two of our recent recruits, Farhaad ‘Freddie’ Khalfey and Carole Manning who both joined us from Severn Trent Water.

Farhaad ‘Freddie’ Khalfey – Contract Billing Specialist

What attracted you to the role and Severn Trent Services?

I had around ten years’ experience in credit management and billing in Severn Trent Water before applying for this role and was ready for a change and a new challenge. I was interested in learning how to manage third-party relationships and applying the experience from my old role while also learning about contract management.

I am passionate about the Severn Trent group as a whole and have genuinely enjoyed my time with the company. When it came to taking on a new challenge, I was always going to look internally to progress my own development.

What are your experiences of Severn Trent Services?

I have enjoyed every second of my time at Severn Trent Services. You really get to meet some great people, and everyone is very helpful. You also feel like you can take ownership of your work and have the freedom to manage and make decisions in your day-to-day role.

Carole Manning – Key Account Manager, Severn Trent Services

How did you come to work for Severn Trent Services?

I had worked at Severn Trent Water as a Key Account Manager from 2012 and loved the company, its ethics, the way it treats its people, and the role. After a short stint externally, my current role ‘Key Account Manager’ for MoD Growth popped up and I immediately knew it would be the right move.

How are you getting on so far?

I feel very fortunate to have got the role and very excited to be back in the fold at Severn Trent Services. I’m just about to complete my six-month probation and I’m loving it. My team is ace; so supportive and encouraging, with never ending patience for my endless questions. It’s fascinating working with the MoD. I’m never happier than in my PPE and looking down holes … oh! and the biggest buzz is being on an MoD site and watching F35s taking off.
