Tony Keeney is a water maintenance technician. He works for Oren Environmental, which is part of Severn Trent Services. On behalf of the Coal Authority, he manages the day-to-day operations at Dawdon mine water treatment plant in County Durham. A job he’s done for longer than 14 years.

Nick Barsby is a man who needs no introduction. As the Chair of the Legionella Control Association, it’s Nick’s job to oversee the single most influential organisation in the industry. Nick has been in the role since 2021, having been Vice Chair since 2017 and has enjoyed every challenging moment of it. The Betterment Programme, run by Operations Manager Charlie Anderson, sees three areas of Severn Trent Services come together to increase our service offering to our customers.
It involves Oren Environmental, which is expanding its team to offer grounds maintenance services for our Ministry of Defence contract managed by our Water Services Contracts team. They’ll also deliver asset condition grading services – on the buildings and civil engineering side – to assist our Central Support Services team.
