Severn Questions with Carole

Introducing Carole Manning, a key account manager working in the Commercial Water Services team who provide water and waste water services to multiple sectors. In fact, we have a whole section dedicated to this awesome team – Find out what the Commercial Water Services team do here.

How long have you been working for Severn Trent Services?

Just over a year. Can’t believe it’s that long already. It’s flown by.

What does your main job role entail?

I’m a Key Account Manager working on the MoD Growth team. So, we manage our customer relationships and identify and help deliver any additional work that isn’t covered by the Aquatrine contract. We are sort of like the conductor of the orchestra. The music is made by the hard-working teams that deliver the work.

What was your first role here at Severn Trent Services and has it changed

This is my first at Severn Trent Services, but I did work at Severn Trent Water as a Key Account Manager from 2012 to 2016.

What’s the best thing about working for Severn Trent Services?

My team is great!! The job appeals to my inner geek and every day is a school day. Who knew drains and oil and water interceptors  could be so interesting!

What is your proudest personal moment?

Outside of work (other than the normal – kids, family) is that last weekend I rowed on the Thames in the biggest all-women rowing eights race internationally, WeHoRR. It was oarsome!! We trained insanely hard to be able to do that!

If you could name one individual who’s helped you over the years, who would they be and why?

It’s a cliché but it truly is my husband Phil. Through thick and thin and for the last 34 years, it definitely has to be him.

What has been your most memorable moment working for Severn Trent Services?

My first visit to an MoD site and having a Top Gun moment 😊. On a more serious note there are several but probably going it solo for the first time on an MoD site visit without my team buddies to back me up!
