We are proud to announce our first 100% electric vehicles

We all know how important it is to provide a fantastic service to our customers, but as a business we also recognise it is vital that we provide these services in a sustainable way.

As part of our sustainability plans, we are proud to announce that we have added our first brand-new 100% electric vehicles (EVs) to our Severn Trent Services fleet. Based on one of our water treatment works that has the ability to produce 30k kW renewable energy using solar energy, the Nissan ENV200s will be used by our technicians to deliver operations and maintenance (O&M) on our water and wastewater assets across our MoD contract.

The purchase of the electric vehicles is the first step in reducing the carbon emissions produced by our fleet, supporting our ambitious sustainability plans, as well as supporting our Severn Trent Group triple carbon pledge.

“The addition of the electric vehicles to our fleet is a very exciting time for STS, as we step up our plans to deliver our services to our current and future customers using sustainable methods going forward,” said Dan McArdle, acting head of water services contracts. “Making small changes to how we work now, will create a brighter, greener future for our customers, workforce and the environment.”

The electric vehicles will be monitored going forward to compile data, and alongside feedback from our technicians utilising the vehicles, this will be used to understand how we expand our EV fleet further.
